CartBot: Gift with purchase vs Keeper—Recover Abandoned Cartsfor Shopify (2026)
CartBot: Gift with Purchase and Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts are Shopify apps that operate in different, but related, areas of the customer journey. CartBot focuses on incentivizing purchases by automatically adding free products or gifts based on pre-defined conditions like product purchases or cart value. Its strength lies in increasing average order value and potentially improving customer loyalty through strategic gifting. It primarily serves merchants looking to implement gift-with-purchase promotions and BOGO offers to drive sales. Keeper, on the other hand, aims to recapture lost revenue by recovering abandoned carts, targeting customers who have already initiated the checkout process but didn't complete their purchase. Keeper's goal is to reduce cart abandonment rates and recover potential sales through re-engagement efforts. While both apps touch the 'Checkout' and 'Cart customization' categories, their core functions and intended outcomes are distinct. CartBot is proactive, aiming to influence purchasing behavior, whereas Keeper is reactive, aiming to salvage lost transactions. The difference is reflected in their feature sets and the problems they aim to solve for Shopify merchants.

Our Verdict
The choice between CartBot: Gift with Purchase and Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts depends heavily on a merchant's specific needs and priorities. If a merchant is primarily focused on proactively driving sales through promotions, increasing average order value, and enhancing customer loyalty through gifting strategies, then CartBot is the more suitable option. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest that it effectively delivers on its promise of easy gift-with-purchase automation. On the other hand, if a merchant is struggling with high cart abandonment rates and prioritizing recapturing lost revenue, then Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts would be the better choice, although the lower rating warrants careful consideration of user reviews and support quality before committing.
