CartBot: Gift with purchase vs Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGOfor Shopify (2026)
Both CartBot: Gift with purchase and Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO are Shopify apps focused on boosting sales through discounts and gifts with purchase. CartBot appears to be more narrowly focused on automatically adding free products or gifts to the cart based on specific conditions, with a strong emphasis on product-based triggers and "reverse" bot functionality to remove gifts when conditions are no longer met. Kite Discount, on the other hand, positions itself as a broader discount and conversion tool, encompassing free gifts, BOGO offers, tiered discounts, progress bars, and Shopify Scripts migration. Kite Discount appeals to merchants seeking a comprehensive suite of discount and conversion-boosting tools. Its feature set extends beyond simple gift-with-purchase scenarios to include volume discounts, free shipping discounts, and progress bars designed to motivate customers. It also caters to more advanced users seeking to migrate from Shopify Scripts. CartBot targets merchants primarily interested in automating gift-with-purchase offers based on specific product purchases or cart value. Its simplicity and clear focus may make it a more appealing option for merchants with straightforward gift-with-purchase needs. While both have a high number of reviews and strong ratings, the feature set of Kite Discount suggests a more advanced and versatile tool, but perhaps at the cost of increased complexity compared to CartBot's focused approach. The apps target different needs within the discounts and promotions space.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking primarily to automate gift-with-purchase offers triggered by specific product purchases, CartBot: Gift with purchase is the likely better choice due to its focused feature set and potentially simpler configuration. Its "reverse" bot feature is a unique selling point for those concerned about removing gifts when conditions aren't met.
However, if a merchant needs a broader range of discount and promotional capabilities, including BOGO offers, tiered discounts, volume discounts, and progress bars to encourage larger purchases, then Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO is the superior option. Its Shopify Scripts migration feature also caters to merchants with more complex, custom discount logic. It's likely a more powerful tool, but potentially requires more setup and configuration effort.
