CartBot: Gift with purchase vs Payflow: COD & Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, CartBot: Gift with purchase and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods are both Shopify apps operating in the Checkout and Cart customization categories, but they cater to fundamentally different needs. CartBot focuses on enhancing the customer experience and driving sales through strategic gift-with-purchase offers. Payflow, on the other hand, addresses the operational complexities of payment and delivery methods, particularly Cash on Delivery (COD), aiming to streamline the checkout process and reduce post-purchase order edits. CartBot's strength lies in its ability to automatically add free products or gifts based on pre-defined conditions, such as specific product purchases or cart value. This makes it an excellent tool for upselling, cross-selling, and promoting new products. Payflow's core functionality revolves around customizing payment and delivery options, allowing merchants to hide, rename, and reorder them based on various conditions like total price, weight, or address. This app is tailored for businesses seeking greater control and flexibility over their checkout process, especially those heavily reliant on COD and needing to minimize manual order adjustments. While both apps use conditional logic, CartBot applies it to incentivize purchases, while Payflow uses it to manage payment and delivery options.

Our Verdict
CartBot: Gift with purchase is the clear choice for merchants looking to implement strategic gift-with-purchase promotions to increase average order value and customer engagement. Its focus on automatically adding gifts based on various conditions makes it a valuable tool for upselling and cross-selling. Conversely, Payflow: COD & Payment Methods is better suited for merchants who require granular control over their payment and delivery options, particularly those who rely heavily on Cash on Delivery and need to minimize post-purchase manual adjustments. The 'Advanced AND/OR condition tool' suggests flexibility, but also potentially higher complexity in setup, so Payflow is likely a better fit for merchants comfortable configuring rules and conditions.
