Cartesan Shopping vs Picture It: AR & Art Previewsfor Shopify (2026)
Cartesan Shopping and Picture It: AR & Art Previews both operate in the 3D/AR/VR space on Shopify, but cater to vastly different needs. Cartesan Shopping focuses on creating 3D models of products from photos or videos, aiming to make 3D model creation accessible to any merchant, regardless of technical expertise. Their primary value proposition is speed and ease of use, boasting 3D model generation in just 5 minutes. The generalized approach means Cartesan Shopping can, in theory, work with any product. In contrast, Picture It: AR & Art Previews is highly specialized, targeting art galleries, art stores, and decor shops. It emphasizes augmented reality (AR) previews, allowing customers to visualize wall art in their own spaces. It directly addresses the specific challenges of selling art online, such as visualizing scale and matching to existing decor. The app boasts features like automated dimension import, auto-framing, and virtual showrooms, features irrelevant to general product visualization. Furthermore, the established reputation of Picture It: AR & Art Previews is stronger, evidenced by its perfect 5/5 rating and 35 reviews, compared to Cartesan Shopping's unrated status.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling wall art or decor, Picture It: AR & Art Previews is the clear choice due to its specialized features like AR previews, dimension import, auto-framing, and virtual showrooms tailored to that industry. The positive ratings and reviews further reinforce its value within the art and decor niche. The app's analytics also offer a useful advantage.
Cartesan Shopping could be a viable option for merchants selling products beyond art who want to quickly and easily create 3D models without significant technical expertise. However, the lack of reviews and an unproven track record makes it a riskier choice compared to Picture It, and merchants may want to wait for more validation from other users before fully committing.
