Catalogly: PDF Catalogs vs Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Storyfor Shopify (2026)
Catalogly: PDF Catalogs and Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem, despite sharing the "Images and media" category. Catalogly focuses on creating and distributing product catalogs in PDF format, targeting merchants who need a portable, easily shareable way to showcase their products offline or with specific vendors. Its strength lies in its drag-and-drop builder, automation of product updates, and click-through analytics for optimizing catalog performance. Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story, on the other hand, centers on embedding videos and web stories directly onto a Shopify store. It appeals to merchants looking to enhance customer engagement and drive sales through visual storytelling and interactive video elements. A key advantage is its focus on minimizing site speed impact, even with numerous embedded videos, along with features like bulk embedding, shoppable video elements, and real-time analytics. Therefore, where Catalogly provides offline and downloadable resources, Vidjet enriches the online store's interactive content and offers immediate sales pathways.

Our Verdict
The choice between Catalogly and Vidjet depends entirely on the merchant's specific goals. Catalogly is ideal for businesses that rely on printed catalogs, need a way to quickly share product information with distributors, or want to track offline marketing campaign performance through click-through data. Vidjet, however, is the better option for businesses aiming to boost online engagement, create visually appealing shopping experiences, and leverage video marketing to drive sales directly on their Shopify store. Vidjet's higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest wider satisfaction among users looking for video solutions.
If a merchant requires *both* functions they will need both apps. If they need ONLY one, base the decision solely on whether offline PDF catalog creation or on-site video engagement is the business need.
Common Questions
Which app is better for improving SEO?
Vidjet is likely to provide a better SEO boost due to the increased engagement and dwell time associated with video content. While Catalogly's PDF catalogs can be linked online, they don't inherently improve on-site SEO metrics.
Can I use both Catalogly and Vidjet together?
Yes, the apps serve distinct purposes and can be used concurrently. Catalogly can handle your offline marketing materials, while Vidjet enhances your online store experience.
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, Vidjet appears to be easier to set up due to its focus on pre-built formats and bulk embedding. Catalogly's drag-and-drop builder may require more initial setup and customization.
Which app offers better analytics?
Both offer analytics. Catalogly focuses on click-through analytics from catalogs, while Vidjet provides real-time analytics on sales, engagement, and ROI from videos.
Which app is more affordable?
The descriptions do not provide pricing information. Merchants would need to consult the app listings in the Shopify App Store to compare costs.
