CateringHero vs Easy Appointment Booking Appfor Shopify (2026)
CateringHero and Easy Appointment Booking App both aim to facilitate online ordering but target drastically different niches. CateringHero positions itself as a menu management and ordering solution specifically for catering businesses, allowing them to create organized menus with categories for easy customer browsing and booking events. Its core value proposition is streamlined menu management and efficient order placement for catering services. In contrast, Easy Appointment Booking App caters to a much broader audience, enabling businesses to turn any product into a bookable event or service. It focuses on appointment scheduling, customer notification, and integration with popular calendar and marketing tools, making it suitable for businesses offering services, workshops, rentals, tours, and more. The overlap in the 'Selling in person' and 'Retail' categories highlights a shared functionality of booking items or services available on a Shopify store, but their approaches and target customers differ substantially. The major difference lies in their scope and functionality. CateringHero is centered on creating menus and event-based bookings. Easy Appointment Booking App is a much more comprehensive booking solution. The significant difference in ratings and the sheer volume of reviews strongly suggest a substantial difference in user satisfaction and platform maturity. While CateringHero focuses specifically on menus for catering businesses, Easy Appointment Booking App boasts features like staff management, calendar integrations (Google Calendar, Outlook), and marketing integrations (Klaviyo), extending its utility beyond basic menu-based ordering.

Our Verdict
For catering businesses seeking a simple solution to manage menus and event bookings directly through their Shopify store, CateringHero presents itself as an option. However, the extremely low rating and single review raise significant concerns about its usability and reliability. Merchants should proceed with extreme caution and thoroughly investigate the app before committing. On the other hand, Easy Appointment Booking App offers a comprehensive suite of features tailored for diverse booking scenarios. Its high rating, numerous reviews, and integration capabilities make it the superior choice for businesses requiring robust appointment scheduling, resource management, and customer communication tools. The breadth of features such as staff management and calendar syncing makes it a more versatile and trustworthy choice for most businesses seeking a booking solution in 2026.
Given the information available, it's difficult to recommend CateringHero in its current state. Easy Appointment Booking App, due to its vastly superior ratings and feature set, is the stronger choice for most merchants looking for a booking and appointment app. If the core requirement is only menu based event booking, merchants are advised to look for alternative catering specific apps with better reviews and ratings or implement custom solutions, instead of opting for CateringHero.
