CC Order Rules vs EZ Checkout Controller | Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
CC Order Rules and EZ Checkout Controller | Rules both aim to provide Shopify merchants with greater control over their order processes, but they approach this goal from slightly different angles. CC Order Rules focuses primarily on product-centric restrictions, such as quantity limits, pre-order periods, and product bundle exclusions. This makes it ideal for stores with complex product offerings or those running promotions requiring specific purchase conditions. EZ Checkout Controller | Rules, on the other hand, leans more towards checkout-specific customizations and broader restrictions like controlling shipping and payment methods, blocking specific users or locations, and incorporating terms and conditions. The key difference lies in their scope. CC Order Rules drills down into the specifics of *what* customers can buy under what conditions, while EZ Checkout Controller | Rules deals more with *how* and *from where* they can complete the purchase. EZ Checkout Controller|Rules also provides features such as fraud protection, IP blocking and Country blocking which offers another level of order security. Therefore, a merchant’s specific needs – product restriction vs. checkout control – will heavily influence their choice. Considering that EZ Checkout Controller | Rules has significantly more reviews and focuses on providing greater checkout control and more comprehensive order restriction options, it caters to a broader audience, particularly merchants concerned with security, fraudulent orders, and checkout customization. Merchants selling digital products may prefer CC Order Rules.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing highly specific product-level purchase conditions, such as pre-orders or bundled restrictions, CC Order Rules may be suitable, especially if they have technical expertise to leverage the API. However, the low number of reviews is a risk.
EZ Checkout Controller | Rules appears to offer a more comprehensive solution, covering a broader range of checkout and order restrictions, including features like fraud protection and location blocking. The significantly higher number of reviews (even though still relatively low) provides a slightly higher level of confidence. For most stores prioritizing checkout control and security, EZ Checkout Controller | Rules is likely the better option.
