Chargeback: Auto Prevention vs Deliverlitics: Stop Scammersfor Shopify (2026)
Chargeback: Auto Prevention and Deliverlitics: Stop Scammers are both Shopify apps aiming to reduce fraudulent chargebacks, but they approach the problem from different angles. Chargeback: Auto Prevention focuses on *reactive* chargeback mitigation by automatically issuing refunds when a dispute is initiated, preventing chargebacks from occurring in the first place. It emphasizes ease of use and minimal merchant intervention after setup. In contrast, Deliverlitics: Stop Scammers takes a *proactive* approach, leveraging AI to analyze merchant-side data and identify potentially fraudulent orders *before* fulfillment. It aims to block risky orders and stop scams before they lead to chargebacks, particularly focusing on delivery scams and repeat offenders. Deliverlitics requires more customization and monitoring but offers more targeted fraud prevention.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a hands-off solution to prevent chargebacks by immediately refunding disputed transactions, Chargeback: Auto Prevention is likely the better choice. It prioritizes simplicity and ease of use. However, merchants experiencing a high volume of delivery scams and 'friendly fraud' and who want a more tailored and preventative approach should consider Deliverlitics: Stop Scammers. While it requires more setup and monitoring, Deliverlitics offers targeted fraud prevention based on merchant data, potentially saving more money in the long run by stopping fraud before it happens. Given the relatively low number of reviews for both apps, merchants should also consider requesting demos or trials to test their suitability before making a final decision.
Common Questions
What happens if a legitimate customer initiates a dispute with Chargeback: Auto Prevention?
The app will automatically refund the transaction, preventing the chargeback but potentially resulting in a loss of revenue if the dispute was not valid.
Can Deliverlitics block legitimate orders by mistake?
Yes, there is a risk of false positives. Deliverlitics relies on AI and merchant data, and if the algorithms are not properly trained or the data is inaccurate, it could flag legitimate orders as fraudulent.
Does Chargeback: Auto Prevention eliminate the need to investigate disputes?
Yes, Chargeback: Auto Prevention eliminates investigation because it automatically refunds the transaction, so there is no chargeback to investigate.
How does Deliverlitics identify repeat scammers?
Deliverlitics analyzes merchant-side data like returns, reships, refund requests, and support messages to identify patterns and connections that indicate a customer has previously engaged in fraudulent behavior. This allows them to flag future orders from those customers.
Which app is better for merchants with limited technical expertise?
Chargeback: Auto Prevention is likely better suited for merchants with limited technical expertise due to its quick and easy setup and automated functionality. Deliverlitics requires more configuration and monitoring, demanding a higher level of understanding of fraud prevention strategies.
