Chargeback Specialist vs Fraudify: Fraud Controlfor Shopify (2026)
Chargeback Specialist and Fraudify: Fraud Control both operate in the fraud space on Shopify, but they address distinct points in the fraud lifecycle. Chargeback Specialist focuses on *recovering* revenue lost to chargebacks, employing AI and human oversight to contest disputes and prevent future fraud. It positions itself as a solution for high-volume and fast-growing eCommerce brands. Fraudify: Fraud Control, on the other hand, is a real-time fraud *detection* and alert system designed to notify merchants immediately of suspicious orders based on Shopify's fraud risk assessments. It aims to enable merchants to proactively cancel orders and prevent potential losses. The primary differentiator lies in the timing of intervention: Chargeback Specialist handles disputes *after* they occur, while Fraudify aims to *prevent* fraudulent orders from being fulfilled.

Our Verdict
Chargeback Specialist is the stronger choice for established, high-volume stores that experience frequent chargebacks and need a robust, automated solution for dispute resolution and prevention. Its AI and human oversight offer a comprehensive approach to recovering lost revenue. Fraudify: Fraud Control is better suited for smaller merchants or stores just starting to experience fraud issues who want immediate alerts and prefer a hands-on approach to order management and cancellation. However, the lack of reviews and reliance on Shopify's native fraud detection are significant drawbacks compared to Chargeback Specialist's more proactive, AI-driven solution. Ultimately, Chargeback Specialist provides a more complete solution for managing chargebacks and preventing future fraud.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Chargeback Specialist claims one-click activation, suggesting it is easier to set up initially. Fraudify: Fraud Control, while not explicitly claiming one-click setup, likely has a straightforward installation process, but requires configuration of alert settings which adds time.

Fraudify: Fraud Control attempts to be proactive by providing real-time alerts, allowing merchants to cancel orders before fulfillment. Chargeback Specialist focuses on prevention by analyzing chargeback data and adapting to the business, addressing fraudulent patterns over time.
Which app is more suitable for a high-volume store?
Chargeback Specialist explicitly states it's built for high-volume stores, suggesting it can handle a large number of transactions and disputes. Fraudify: Fraud Control doesn't specify a target volume, but its alert-based system might become overwhelming with a high volume of orders.
