Chargeback Specialist vs Riskifiedfor Shopify (2026)
Chargeback Specialist and Riskified both operate in the Shopify fraud prevention space, but they offer distinctly different approaches. Chargeback Specialist focuses on *recovering* revenue lost to chargebacks, emphasizing AI-powered dispute responses coupled with human oversight. This positions them as a solution for merchants already experiencing chargeback issues who desire a high-touch, tailored approach. Riskified, on the other hand, is positioned as a comprehensive, end-to-end fraud prevention solution, prioritizing *preventing* fraudulent transactions from happening in the first place with guaranteed chargeback protection across all transactions. Riskified appears aimed at larger, higher-volume businesses requiring more robust and scalable fraud protection. While Chargeback Specialist highlights one-click activation and no technical setup, Riskified admits to a longer 'few weeks' integration time. The value propositions also differ: Chargeback Specialist highlights AI learning and adaptation to *your* business, suggesting a personalized service. Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants already dealing with a high volume of chargebacks and needing a personalized, hands-on approach, Chargeback Specialist appears to be the better choice. Its AI-powered dispute resolution, combined with human review, offers a compelling solution for recovering lost revenue. The 'one-click activation' also appeals to businesses looking for a quick and easy setup.
However, for larger eCommerce businesses focused on aggressive growth and requiring a more comprehensive, scalable fraud prevention solution, Riskified is likely the superior option. The 'full chargeback protection' across all transactions provides peace of mind, and the focus on conversion optimization aligns with businesses prioritizing revenue generation. The longer integration time is a trade-off for a more robust, enterprise-grade solution.
