Chargeback Specialist vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
Chargeback Specialist and Subuno both aim to combat fraud for Shopify merchants, but they approach the problem with different strategies. Chargeback Specialist focuses on *recovering* lost revenue from chargebacks and fraudulent disputes using AI and human review. It seems geared toward larger, faster-growing e-commerce businesses looking for a hands-off, automated solution. In contrast, Subuno is a rules-based *prevention* platform designed to help merchants customize fraud checks and proactively flag suspicious orders before fulfillment. Subuno offers more granular control and manual review options, catering to merchants who want to actively manage their fraud prevention strategies. While Chargeback Specialist emphasizes simplicity with one-click activation and AI-driven responses, Subuno highlights its customizable fraud checks, manual review tools, and integration with third-party data analytics. The choice hinges on whether a merchant prioritizes automated recovery from existing chargebacks or proactive prevention with customizable rules and manual intervention.

Our Verdict
For high-volume stores overwhelmed by chargebacks and seeking a hands-off solution, Chargeback Specialist is likely the better choice. Its AI-powered automation and human review offer a compelling way to recover revenue without requiring significant manual intervention. However, if a merchant prefers greater control over their fraud prevention strategy and wants to actively manage rules and manually review suspicious orders, Subuno is the more suitable option. Its customizable rules and extensive manual review tools empower merchants to tailor their fraud prevention efforts to their specific needs. Ultimately, the 'best' app depends on the merchant's preferred level of involvement and the scale of their chargeback problem.
