Chargeup Extra Fee vs DPO Dynamic Product Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Chargeup Extra Fee and DPO Dynamic Product Options present vastly different profiles for Shopify merchants. Chargeup Extra Fee aims to provide merchants with the ability to add customizable fees to the checkout process for various options like shipping protection, gift wrap, or surcharges. Its stated value proposition is increased revenue and enhanced customer options through fixed or percentage-based fees. However, it currently lacks any user reviews, suggesting it may be a new or unproven app. DPO Dynamic Product Options, on the other hand, boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 290 reviews. While the provided information doesn't detail its exact features, its high rating and substantial number of reviews indicate established user satisfaction and a likely reliable functionality. Given that both apps fall under the 'Pricing' category, it suggests that DPO Dynamic Product Options also contributes to product customization related to pricing, albeit in a different way than directly adding fees at checkout. Without more details, its focus might be around dynamic pricing based on chosen product variations or customization options. Our Verdict
Based on the available data, DPO Dynamic Product Options is the safer choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its established user base and high rating suggest a reliable and well-received app. Merchants who require dynamic pricing based on product variations or customizable product attributes would likely benefit from DPO.
Chargeup Extra Fee is more suited for merchants specifically looking to implement checkout fees for services like shipping protection or gift wrapping. However, given the lack of reviews, merchants should proceed with caution and be prepared to thoroughly test the app before fully integrating it into their store. Consider waiting for user feedback to emerge before adopting Chargeup Extra Fee, unless the functionality it provides is highly specific and difficult to find elsewhere.
