CHARGIFY Extra Fee vs MultiPrice: Custom POS Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
CHARGIFY Extra Fee and MultiPrice: Custom POS Pricing address distinct pricing needs for Shopify merchants. CHARGIFY focuses on enabling merchants to recoup expenses by adding surcharges to customer orders, offering flexibility with fixed or percentage-based fees calculated under custom conditions. Its strength lies in increasing transparency by displaying surcharges clearly on the storefront and potentially boosting the Average Order Value (AVO). MultiPrice, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who operate both an online store and physical POS locations, allowing them to manage different pricing strategies across these channels using a single product catalog. Our Verdict
The choice between CHARGIFY Extra Fee and MultiPrice: Custom POS Pricing depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs. CHARGIFY is ideal for merchants who need to offset costs by adding transparent surcharges to orders based on customized rules. It is suitable for businesses in industries with fluctuating costs that need to be passed on to the consumer. MultiPrice is a better fit for merchants who operate both an online store and POS locations and need the flexibility to set different prices to reflect varying overhead and competitive landscapes. For merchants with solely an online presence focusing on expense recovery, CHARGIFY is the clearer winner. Conversely, if managing in-store vs online pricing is the main challenge, MultiPrice provides the more direct solution.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, MultiPrice seems to have a straightforward setup because it focuses on setting prices per location. CHARGIFY, while also seemingly simple, requires configuring custom rules for surcharge calculations, which might involve a steeper learning curve for some users.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
Potentially, but with caution. Using both apps could lead to confusion for customers if both surcharges and location-specific pricing are in play simultaneously. It's crucial to carefully consider the combined effect and ensure transparency with customers.
Which app offers a better user experience for customers?
CHARGIFY prioritizes user experience by explicitly displaying extra fees on the storefront. MultiPrice focuses on accurate pricing based on location at checkout; user experience is considered from the perspective of clarity based on where they are purchasing from.
Does either app integrate with accounting software?
The provided descriptions do not mention integrations with accounting software for either app. Further research would be needed to determine if such integrations exist.
Which app better prevents cart abandonment?
It is difficult to say. CHARGIFY may increase cart abandonment if customers object to unexpected fees, unless clearly communicated. Conversely, MultiPrice, by showing accurate in-store pricing, could potentially lower abandonment by removing surprises. Ultimately, customer perception and transparent communication are crucial.
