CHARGIFY Extra Fee vs Omnibus Insight: Price Historyfor Shopify (2026)
CHARGIFY Extra Fee and Omnibus Insight: Price History are both Shopify apps in the 'Pricing' category, but they serve fundamentally different purposes and target distinct merchant needs. CHARGIFY Extra Fee focuses on allowing merchants to add surcharges to customer orders, effectively passing on costs or increasing revenue based on configured rules. It aims to improve the Average Order Value (AVO) and manage store expenditures. In contrast, Omnibus Insight: Price History is geared towards ensuring transparent pricing and compliance with the EU Omnibus Directive, focusing on building customer trust by displaying historical pricing information. Our Verdict
The choice between CHARGIFY Extra Fee and Omnibus Insight: Price History depends entirely on the merchant's needs and goals. If the primary objective is to offset expenses or boost AVO by implementing surcharges, CHARGIFY is the better option. However, merchants operating in or selling to the European Union and needing to comply with the Omnibus Directive should choose Omnibus Insight: Price History to ensure price transparency and avoid potential legal issues. It's important to note the limited number of reviews for both apps.
Given the limited review count, it's also advisable to thoroughly test both apps (if free trials are available) and compare them against merchant-specific needs and objectives. Prioritize apps based on alignment with core business goals: revenue generation for CHARGIFY and legal compliance for Omnibus Insight.
