Chative ‑ Live chat & Chatbot vs Proveway PayPal Tracking Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Chative ‑ Live chat & Chatbot and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync are both Shopify apps, but they address drastically different merchant needs. Chative aims to provide a comprehensive AI-powered customer service solution, focusing on live chat, chatbot functionality, and unified customer data management. It pitches itself as a turn-key solution that boosts sales via messaging apps, offering features such as order history access and personalized customer service. However, its extremely low rating and minimal reviews raise significant concerns about its reliability and effectiveness. Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync, on the other hand, is hyper-focused on streamlining PayPal tracking synchronization. It aims to automate the process of updating PayPal with Shopify tracking information to prevent disputes, reduce money holds, and unlock PayPal Seller Protections. With a perfect rating and a substantial number of reviews, Proveway appears to be a well-received solution for merchants heavily reliant on PayPal for payment processing. The contrast highlights a fundamental difference: Chative aims for broad customer service functionality, while Proveway addresses a specific, but potentially crucial, aspect of payment processing.

Our Verdict
Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is the clear winner for merchants who primarily use PayPal and want to automate tracking updates to avoid holds and disputes. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews suggest reliability and effectiveness in its niche. The app addresses a specific pain point and delivers a tangible benefit.
Chative ‑ Live chat & Chatbot, despite its ambitious feature set, should be approached with extreme caution. The abysmal rating and lack of reviews are red flags. While the promise of AI-powered customer service is appealing, the execution seems to be lacking, based on current data. Merchants seeking comprehensive customer service should look elsewhere for alternatives with more positive feedback and a proven track record.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Proveway is likely easier to set up due to its single, focused purpose of syncing PayPal tracking. Chative, with its multiple channels and AI features, probably requires more configuration and training.
Which app is more likely to improve my bottom line?
Proveway directly impacts the bottom line by reducing PayPal holds and enabling Seller Protections. Chative *could* improve sales through better customer service, but its effectiveness is questionable based on its reviews.
Do both apps fall into the 'Order Tracking' category?
Yes, both apps are listed in the 'Order tracking' category. However, Chative's focus is on providing order information within a chat interface, whereas Proveway directly updates PayPal with tracking details.
Which app offers better customer support?
Chative claims to offer 24/7 in-app support. Proveway's support quality is not explicitly mentioned, but its high rating suggests satisfactory customer service. However, Chative's claim is less convincing given its overall low rating.
If I'm not using PayPal, is either app useful to me?
If you're not using PayPal, Proveway is entirely irrelevant. Chative *might* be useful for its live chat and customer service features, but there are better-rated alternatives on the Shopify App Store.
