Chattie ‑ Build Real Community vs Roster: Ambassador Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
Chattie and Roster both aim to cultivate brand communities, but their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. Chattie focuses on creating a general community space, emphasizing direct communication between customers and the brand, as well as fostering connections among customers themselves through VIP groups, UGC capture, and location-based channels. It aims to build a loyal customer base through personalized experiences and direct engagement, primarily using iOS and Android Apps. Roster, on the other hand, is specifically designed for ambassador marketing. It provides tools for recruiting, engaging, rewarding, and measuring the performance of brand ambassadors to drive awareness and sales. It centers around structured campaigns and utilizes ambassadors to amplify the brand's reach. The key distinction lies in Chattie's emphasis on building a broader community with diverse interaction methods versus Roster's focus on a curated group of ambassadors and their marketing impact. Given the limited data for Chattie and its significantly lower rating, the objective assessment heavily favors Roster.

Our Verdict
Roster is the stronger choice for merchants specifically seeking to implement and scale an ambassador marketing program. Its features are built around recruiting, engaging, rewarding, and tracking ambassador performance. Given the higher rating and number of reviews, it seems like a more stable and feature-rich option as of 2026.
Chattie might be suitable for merchants who want to foster a more general sense of community among their customers and experiment with different interaction methods, like VIP groups and location-based events. However, the low rating and single review suggest that Chattie might be a riskier choice or an app that requires considerable development or refinement by the developer to meet the needs of merchants.
