Checkout Components | Upsell vs Shopy Payment Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Checkout Components | Upsell and Shopy Payment Rules both aim to improve the checkout experience on Shopify, but target very different aspects. It also supports advanced segmentation based on customer type, cart value, and location, along with custom fields for gathering additional information. This app integrates with popular review and personalization platforms. Shopy Payment Rules, on the other hand, provides tools to customize which payment methods are visible to specific customer types, particularly distinguishing between B2B and DTC customers. It enables merchants to rename, reorder, and prioritize payment options. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to significantly boost their average order value through strategic upsells and cross-sells, coupled with comprehensive checkout customization options, Checkout Components | Upsell appears to be the stronger choice. Its wider range of features and integrations, along with a significantly higher number of reviews (suggesting broader usage and potential for community support), makes it an attractive option for stores prioritizing revenue optimization.
However, if a merchant's primary concern is controlling the payment options displayed to different customer segments (especially B2B vs. DTC), then Shopy Payment Rules directly addresses that need. While it has fewer reviews, its targeted focus on payment method management could prove valuable for merchants with specific requirements in that area, particularly where maintaining clear payment distinctions between customer types is essential.
