Checkout | Flow vs Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawerfor Shopify (2026)
Checkout | Flow and Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer both aim to increase revenue through strategic checkout optimization, but they approach the problem with different focuses. Checkout | Flow leverages Shopify's Checkout Extensibility to deeply customize the checkout, thank-you, and order status pages with content, branding, and upsells. Its core strength lies in comprehensive control over the post-cart experience and tight integration with the native checkout flow. Opus, on the other hand, concentrates primarily on pre-checkout cart enhancements. Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer centers its efforts on improving the shopping cart itself, adding urgency through timers, promoting free gifts, and driving AOV with upsells. Its focus is on optimizing the cart experience with a variety of sales-boosting techniques, including abandoned cart recovery. While it doesn't offer the same degree of checkout page customization as Checkout | Flow, it provides a robust suite of cart-specific features to increase conversions and AOV before the customer even reaches the checkout.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking complete control over the Shopify checkout experience – customizing branding, adding specific content, and implementing post-purchase upsells within the Shopify ecosystem – Checkout | Flow is the better option. Its focus on Checkout Extensibility allows for deep customization and tight integration. However, with only 12 reviews it's important to carefully evaluate if the featureset meets your exact needs.
If the primary goal is to rapidly increase AOV and reduce cart abandonment through a wide array of cart-specific tools (upsells, free gifts, urgency timers), then Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer is the more suitable choice. Its larger review base indicates greater user satisfaction and potentially a more proven track record in delivering cart optimization results. While it lacks checkout page manipulation, its focus on the cart often delivers more immediate, tangible improvements.
