Checkout Plus vs Kwik COD & Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
Checkout Plus and Kwik COD & Checkout both aim to enhance the Shopify checkout experience, but they target different aspects. Checkout Plus focuses on comprehensive customization, allowing merchants to add upsells, social proof elements (reviews, UGC, trust badges), gift messaging, delivery instructions, and conditional payment/shipping options. It aims to improve AOV and build customer trust through a personalized and informative checkout process. Kwik COD & Checkout, on the other hand, specializes in optimizing Cash on Delivery (COD) orders and increasing prepaid conversions. It uses intelligent COD blocking, pre-filled addresses, advanced discounts, and partial COD payments to reduce RTO (Return to Origin) and encourage prepaid transactions. While both apps offer checkout customization, their core value propositions differ significantly. Checkout Plus provides a broad range of tools for enhancing the overall checkout experience and communicating with customers. Kwik COD & Checkout, in contrast, offers a laser-focused solution for managing COD orders, reducing RTO, and driving prepaid conversions. The number of reviews indicates that Kwik COD & Checkout may be more widely adopted or address a pain point felt by a larger segment of merchants.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking for a comprehensive suite of checkout customization options to enhance the overall shopping experience and boost AOV through features like upsells and social proof, Checkout Plus is likely the better choice. It provides a more general and versatile approach to checkout improvement. However, for businesses heavily reliant on Cash on Delivery (COD) and struggling with high RTO rates and a low volume of prepaid orders, Kwik COD & Checkout is the clear winner. Its specialized features, such as COD blocking and advanced discounts for prepaid orders, directly address these specific challenges and offer a more targeted solution. The higher number of reviews for Kwik COD & Checkout further suggests its effectiveness in solving the COD-related issues it addresses.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a beginner?
Based on the information provided, it's difficult to definitively say which is easier. However, Kwik COD & Checkout highlights its 24/7 chat support and plug-and-play integrations, suggesting it may be more user-friendly, particularly for those less familiar with complex checkout customizations.
Which app is better for reducing cart abandonment?
Kwik COD & Checkout specifically mentions pre-filled addresses to reduce cart abandonment. While Checkout Plus can customize the checkout process, it doesn't explicitly state features to directly combat cart abandonment as explicitly.
Does Checkout Plus support COD customization?
Checkout Plus allows for 'Payment, Shipping Methods & Order Limits: customize at checkout with conditions.' This *could* be used to influence COD orders, but it's not its primary focus like in Kwik COD & Checkout. Kwik COD & Checkout provides specific COD blocking and management tools.
Which app offers better long-term value?
This depends on the merchant's specific needs. If COD is a significant challenge, Kwik COD & Checkout provides a targeted solution with long-term value in reducing RTO and improving prepaid orders. If a merchant seeks broader control over the checkout experience and communication, Checkout Plus might offer greater long-term value through its customization options.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it's important to consider overlap and potential conflicts. Using both might lead to redundancy or conflicting customizations. Carefully evaluate whether the combined benefits outweigh the risks of complexity and potential conflicts before implementing both.
