Christmas Snowflake vs ES Background Music Playerfor Shopify (2026)
Christmas Snowflake and ES Background Music Player are both Shopify apps in the 'Animation and effects' category, aiming to enhance the user experience on e-commerce websites. However, they achieve this through fundamentally different means. Christmas Snowflake focuses on creating a festive, holiday-themed atmosphere by adding visual animations like snowflakes, a sledge with Santa, and garland effects to the website. It targets merchants seeking to create a Christmas-themed shopping experience, promising an easy setup with minimal impact on website performance. On the other hand, ES Background Music Player aims to improve engagement through audio, allowing merchants to add background music playlists to their storefront. The key difference lies in their medium: Christmas Snowflake uses visual animations, while ES Background Music Player utilizes audio. ES Background Music Player provides customization options for the player's appearance, positioning, and controls, catering to merchants who prioritize brand integration and user control over the audio experience. Christmas Snowflake highlights simplicity and ease of use by requiring only a code snippet in the theme.liquid file. Both apps are currently rated 5/5, but ES Background Music Player has slightly more reviews, suggesting potentially wider adoption or a longer presence on the Shopify App Store.

Our Verdict
For merchants running seasonal Christmas promotions, Christmas Snowflake provides a quick and easy way to inject festive visuals into their online store. Its strength lies in its simplicity and targeted theme. However, due to the very low number of reviews, its reliability and long-term support are uncertain.
ES Background Music Player is better suited for merchants seeking a continuous way to enhance the shopping experience with background music. Its customization options allow for better integration with the store's brand. Given its broader application and slightly higher number of reviews, ES Background Music Player is the safer choice for merchants looking for a reliable and customizable audio solution, assuming they are comfortable with managing the widget settings.
