CI Infinite Scroll vs Color Swatch King: Variantsfor Shopify (2026)
CI Infinite Scroll and Color Swatch King: Variants, while both falling under the 'Product display - Other' Shopify category, address fundamentally different aspects of the customer shopping experience. CI Infinite Scroll focuses on improving browsing efficiency by automatically loading products as the user scrolls, aiming to reduce page load times and increase user engagement on collection and search result pages. Its value proposition is centered around seamless, uninterrupted browsing. In stark contrast, Color Swatch King: Variants targets the product selection process itself, focusing on visual representation of product variants using color swatches, image swatches, and buttons, to enhance product discoverability, simplify variant selection, and boost conversions. Color Swatch King also offers features such as hiding out-of-stock variants and bulk upload capabilities. Color Swatch King has a well-established reputation supported by a large number of positive reviews, suggesting a high level of user satisfaction and a mature product. CI Infinite Scroll, on the other hand, currently lacks any user reviews, making it challenging to assess its reliability and performance based on user feedback. While both apps seek to improve the shopping experience, their focus differs significantly. Our Verdict
Color Swatch King: Variants is the clear choice for merchants selling products with multiple variations, such as clothing or accessories, as it directly addresses the pain point of variant selection. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews further solidify its position as a reliable and effective solution. The ability to customize swatches and hide out-of-stock variants provides valuable control over the product display.
CI Infinite Scroll might be suitable for merchants with large catalogs who want to provide a seamless browsing experience and who are willing to take a risk on an app with no current reviews. Given the lack of reviews and competition in the infinite scroll space, merchants should thoroughly test the app's performance and compatibility with their theme before committing to it.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, CI Infinite Scroll appears to be simpler to set up with its 'enable app button' approach. Color Swatch King requires more configuration to customize swatches and variant pickers.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Color Swatch King is more directly focused on improving conversion rates by making variant selection easier and more visually appealing. CI Infinite Scroll might indirectly improve conversions by reducing bounce rates and improving user engagement, but this is less direct.
Which app is better for stores with many products?
CI Infinite Scroll is likely more useful for stores with large catalogs because it directly addresses product browsing, while Color Swatch King will provide benefits if you have a lot of product variation.
Which app is better for stores with limited color variations?
CI Infinite Scroll is applicable regardless of product variation. Color Swatch King would be more beneficial for the stores with limited color variations because of better visual representation than the traditional variants selection.
Is it possible to use both apps together?
Yes, it's technically possible to use both apps. CI Infinite Scroll would handle the product loading and scrolling, while Color Swatch King would enhance the product variant selection experience. However, merchants should test the compatibility of the apps with their themes to ensure a smooth user experience.
