Clarity Session Replay Heatmap vs SEO On: AEO optimizer LLMs.txtfor Shopify (2026)
Clarity Session Replay Heatmap and SEO On: AEO optimizer LLMs.txt, while sharing the 'Site optimization - Other' Shopify category, target drastically different needs. Clarity focuses on user behavior analysis and store design validation through session replays, heatmaps, and analytics related to customer interactions within the store. It aims to help merchants understand how users navigate their store, identify friction points, and optimize the user experience, particularly around checkout and cart abandonment. SEO On, on the other hand, leverages LLMs (presumably Large Language Models) for AEO (App Engine Optimization) and manages the `LLMs.txt` file, suggesting a focus on app engine efficiency and search engine optimization (SEO) aspects. The key difference lies in their primary focus: Clarity is about understanding and optimizing user behavior *within* the store to improve conversions and reduce abandonment, while SEO On concerns itself with improving app engine performance and *attracting* users to the store through better search engine visibility. The disparity in review counts (3 vs. 171) further suggests that SEO On has a broader appeal, or has been on the market for a longer period, potentially addressing a more universal need for Shopify merchants than Clarity's specific user behavior tracking. However, the equally high ratings suggest that users who *do* use Clarity are highly satisfied with its ability to provide in-depth behavioral insights.
