Clay: B2B Wholesale Pricing vs Extend POS for B2B & Wholesalefor Shopify (2026)
Clay: B2B Wholesale Pricing and Extend POS for B2B & Wholesale are both Shopify apps aiming to streamline wholesale operations, but they approach the challenge from different angles. Clay focuses primarily on dynamic pricing strategies for B2B customers, while Extend POS for B2B & Wholesale centers around extending the functionality of Shopify POS for B2B sales. The key difference lies in their core functionality: Clay is about determining *what* price to offer, while Extend POS is about *how* to create and manage B2B orders within a POS environment. Clay, with significantly more reviews, seems to be the more established and widely adopted solution, likely catering to a broader audience of merchants looking to implement tiered or customized wholesale pricing. Extend POS, on the other hand, specifically targets merchants who heavily rely on Shopify POS for their B2B sales and need features like PO numbers, custom delivery options, and quantity-based discounting directly within the POS interface. The limited number of reviews suggests it might be a newer or more niche product.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on establishing complex and dynamic wholesale pricing structures, Clay: B2B Wholesale Pricing is likely the better choice due to its focus on pricing strategies. The high number of positive reviews also suggests a more mature and reliable product.
However, if your business heavily relies on Shopify POS for B2B transactions and requires the ability to create B2B draft orders with PO numbers, delivery options, and quantity-based rules directly within the POS interface, Extend POS for B2B & Wholesale is the more appropriate solution, despite the limited review data. It offers a POS-centric approach to B2B order management, catering to a specific need.
Common Questions
Which app is better for simple wholesale discounts?
While both apps likely support basic volume discounts, Clay might be preferable if those discounts are applied online and require more complex rule sets. Extend POS would be suitable if the simple discount is used in the POS environment.
Can Extend POS handle online B2B orders?
The description heavily focuses on Shopify POS functionality. It doesn't explicitly state support for online B2B orders, suggesting its primary function is within the POS system. Therefore, it's less suited for handling online wholesale orders outside of the POS context.
Does Clay work with Shopify POS?
The app description doesn't mention POS integration. It's likely a separate solution focused on online storefront pricing. If POS integration is required, evaluate if Clay integrates with other POS solutions through third-party integrations. If your workflow necessitates direct POS integration then Extend POS is more appropriate.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
With significantly more reviews, Clay likely has a more refined user experience and more available documentation. However, ease of use also depends on specific needs. If your primary requirement is simple volume discounts within POS, Extend POS might be straightforward to configure for that particular function.
What if I need both advanced pricing and POS integration?
Evaluate if Clay integrates with Shopify POS or other B2B POS solutions through third-party integrations. If not, you might need to consider using both apps in conjunction (if compatible) or seek an alternative solution that combines both advanced pricing and robust POS features. Consider also if Extend POS will integrate with any other pricing apps. However, it may be difficult to find a solution that perfectly meets both needs.
