Clean Sweeps: Buy‑to‑Enter vs Gatsby: Convert Your Followersfor Shopify (2026)
Clean Sweeps: Buy‑to‑Enter and Gatsby: Convert Your Followers both aim to boost sales, but employ drastically different strategies. Clean Sweeps focuses on rewarding purchases directly through sweepstakes and referral programs. It's positioned as an easy-to-use, all-in-one solution for running purchase-driven giveaways, emphasizing no-code customization and seamless integration. Its target audience appears to be merchants looking to incentivize spending and turn existing customers into brand advocates. Gatsby, conversely, centers around leveraging Instagram followers to grow email/SMS lists and drive conversions. It uses automated Instagram giveaways and ambassador programs to capture leads and boost engagement through user-generated content. The key difference lies in their core function: Clean Sweeps incentivizes existing customers through purchase-based rewards, while Gatsby focuses on acquiring new customers (or re-engaging existing followers) via social media, specifically Instagram. Clean Sweeps' value proposition is to increase average order value and customer lifetime value via giveaways and referrals. Gatsby’s value proposition is to grow marketing lists, increase engagement, and drive conversions through social proof and ambassador programs. While both technically fall under the 'Giveaways and contests' Shopify category, their application and target audience are distinct.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on leveraging existing sales to drive further engagement and incentivize higher spending, Clean Sweeps: Buy‑to‑Enter is the more appropriate choice. Its focus on purchase-based sweepstakes and referrals directly ties into increasing revenue from current customers. The 'No-Code' aspect also makes it attractive for merchants without extensive technical expertise.
On the other hand, Gatsby: Convert Your Followers is better suited for merchants with a strong presence on Instagram who are looking to convert their social media following into valuable email and SMS subscribers. If your marketing strategy heavily relies on social media and influencer collaborations, Gatsby's automated engagement and ambassador management features will be significantly more beneficial. Given the significantly higher number of reviews, Gatsby also has a stronger social proof element.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Clean Sweeps claims 'setup in minutes with customizable widgets' and 'No coding or product metadata workarounds required,' suggesting a more straightforward initial setup for merchants without technical expertise. Gatsby, while automating aspects of follower conversion, likely requires more initial configuration of integrations with platforms like Klaviyo, Attentive, and loyalty programs.
Which app is better for increasing average order value (AOV)?
Clean Sweeps is directly geared towards increasing AOV. Its key features explicitly mention upselling customers with spend-based rewards (e.g., spend $100+ to unlock more entries). Gatsby focuses on lead generation and engagement, which indirectly contributes to sales, but doesn't have a direct AOV-boosting mechanism.
Which app is better for generating leads?
Gatsby excels at lead generation by converting Instagram followers into email and SMS subscribers. Clean Sweeps' referral program also generates leads, but its primary focus is on rewarding existing customers.
Do these apps integrate with other marketing platforms?
Clean Sweeps integrates with email for sending branded post-purchase emails. Gatsby boasts integrations with Klaviyo, Attentive, Smile, LoyaltyLion, Yotpo, and Stamped, providing a more comprehensive integration ecosystem.
Which app is better for small businesses with limited marketing budgets?
Based solely on the provided information, it's difficult to determine which app is more budget-friendly. However, Clean Sweeps' simpler feature set and no-code approach might translate to lower setup and maintenance costs. Gatsby's more complex integrations and features may require more ongoing management.
