CleanerPro Image Editor vs Lightbox ‑ AI Product Imagesfor Shopify (2026)
CleanerPro Image Editor and Lightbox ‑ AI Product Images both aim to enhance product visuals for Shopify merchants in 2026, but they approach the problem from different angles. CleanerPro focuses on editing existing images by removing unwanted elements like logos, text, and backgrounds, and also offers upscaling and compression. Its positioning centers around improving existing visuals efficiently. Lightbox, conversely, generates entirely new product images using AI, aiming to replace traditional product photography with instantly available, on-brand visuals. The key difference lies in their core functionality: CleanerPro *edits* existing images, while Lightbox *generates* new ones. CleanerPro is targeted towards merchants who already have product photos but need to refine them, while Lightbox caters to merchants seeking to bypass the need for initial product photography altogether. Both leverage AI to simplify traditionally complex tasks, but CleanerPro addresses the editing workflow, whereas Lightbox focuses on the creation workflow. Given both apps have perfect ratings, choice depends heavily on the merchant's workflow and existing resources.

Our Verdict
For merchants who already have a base set of product photos and primarily need to clean them up (remove logos, backgrounds, enhance quality), CleanerPro Image Editor is the better choice. Its focus on editing existing images is perfect for refining visuals and saving time on manual edits. The draw-to-remove feature is also great for nuanced editing.
However, for merchants who are just starting out, launching new product variants frequently, or don't want to invest in expensive photoshoots, Lightbox - AI Product Images is the clear winner. Its ability to generate entirely new, professional-looking images directly within the Shopify admin is a game-changer for rapidly scaling product catalogs. Though both have similar high ratings, the lower review count on both apps mean merchants will still need to be cautious and rely on trials or demos.
