COD: Advanced Cash on Delivery vs Codify CODfor Shopify (2026)
Both COD: Advanced Cash on Delivery and Codify COD aim to reduce Return to Origin (RTO) losses associated with cash-on-delivery orders on Shopify. They achieve this primarily through OTP verification and the ability to charge extra fees for COD orders. COD: Advanced Cash on Delivery emphasizes reducing cancellations and bogus orders through proactive verification, potentially appealing to merchants experiencing high fraud rates. Codify COD, on the other hand, focuses on giving merchants granular control over COD availability by offering limitations based on product, collection, zip code, and order value, attracting merchants needing geographically or product-specific COD restrictions. Both apps offer similar core functionalities like OTP verification and COD fee implementation but differ in the breadth of control offered for availability.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily struggling with fraudulent orders and high RTO rates stemming from bogus orders, COD: Advanced Cash on Delivery, with its emphasis on fraud filters and analysis (though not detailed), might be a better fit. Its IVR fallback for OTP delivery ensures higher verification rates. However, for merchants who need more granular control over *where* COD is offered – such as limiting it to specific product lines or geographic areas with lower RTO – Codify COD’s restriction options by product, collection, zip code, and order value make it the superior choice. Codify COD also provides automated reminders and auto-cancellation, which is a time saver. Ultimately, the 'better' app depends on the specific needs and pain points of the merchant.
