COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify vs Privy ‑ Email, SMS & Pop Upsfor Shopify (2026)

Our Verdict
For merchants heavily reliant on COD, particularly those operating in India and Egypt and struggling with high RTO rates and fake orders, COD King is the clear choice. Its specialized features such as OTP verification, upfront payments, and COD fee implementation directly address these pain points. On the other hand, if a merchant needs a comprehensive marketing solution focusing on email, SMS, popups, and general customer engagement, Privy is the better option. Its ease of use and broad feature set make it suitable for businesses of all sizes looking to build their marketing lists and automate campaigns. If a merchant needs *both* marketing *and* COD solutions, they would need to evaluate whether either app's notification features are sufficient, or if they need both apps.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up for a beginner?
Privy is explicitly designed for ease of use, even for users without extensive marketing experience. COD King doesn't specifically mention ease of use, but its focused feature set suggests that while perhaps requiring some configuration for the COD specific parameters, its overall scope is smaller, potentially simplifying the setup.
Which app is better for reducing fraud?
COD King is specifically designed to reduce fraud related to COD orders through OTP verification and upfront payments, making it the better choice for that purpose. Privy does not directly address fraudulent orders.
Which app offers better customer support?
Privy highlights its email and chat support, implying robust support infrastructure. COD King does not explicitly mention its customer support offerings, so Privy likely has better customer support coverage.
Does COD King integrate with email marketing platforms?
The description of COD King does not mention direct integrations with email marketing platforms. It focuses on SMS/WhatsApp notifications for OTP verification and order updates.
Which app is more cost-effective for small businesses?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to definitively say which is more cost-effective. However, COD King's specialized focus may result in a lower overall cost if the business's primary need is COD optimization. Privy, with its broader feature set, might have higher pricing tiers as the business scales and utilizes more features.
