COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify vs Shopify Formsfor Shopify (2026)
COD King - COD Fees & OTP Verify and Shopify Forms are fundamentally different apps catering to distinct needs of Shopify merchants. COD King focuses on mitigating risks associated with Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, particularly reducing Return to Origin (RTO) and Return to Sender (RTS) costs. It achieves this through OTP verification, upfront/partial payments, COD fees, and the ability to show/hide COD based on parameters. Shopify Forms, on the other hand, is a lead generation and customer data collection tool, designed to grow contact lists and convert website visitors into leads using customizable inline and pop-up forms. While both apps fall under the 'Notifications' category on Shopify, their purpose and functionality diverge significantly. COD King is geared towards merchants in regions where COD is prevalent and prone to abuse, aiming to increase profitability by filtering out unserious buyers and encouraging prepaid orders. Shopify Forms is a more general-purpose marketing tool, suitable for businesses of all types seeking to build their customer base and gather valuable data for personalized engagement and segmentation. The key differentiator lies in COD King's transaction-specific fraud prevention versus Shopify Forms' broader lead generation capabilities.

Our Verdict
If your business heavily relies on Cash on Delivery, especially in regions like India or Egypt, and you're struggling with high RTO rates and fraudulent orders, COD King is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to address these issues and improve your profitability on COD transactions.
However, if your primary goal is to grow your email list, collect valuable customer data, and personalize customer engagement, Shopify Forms is the more suitable option. It provides a versatile platform for creating customizable forms and capturing leads across your store. While COD King helps protect existing COD sales, Shopify Forms helps generate new ones.
