COD Toolkit by Breeze vs Essential Upsell & Cross Sellfor Shopify (2026)
COD Toolkit by Breeze and Essential Upsell & Cross Sell are both 5-star rated apps available in the Shopify Checkout category, but they serve vastly different purposes. COD Toolkit focuses on optimizing Cash on Delivery (COD) payment options, enabling merchants to customize COD availability based on rules like order value or location and modify the payment option's branding. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell, on the other hand, concentrates on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through various upsell and cross-sell techniques. It offers features like frequently bought together recommendations, post-purchase upsells, and automatic discount promotions. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. COD Toolkit targets merchants struggling with COD management, high return rates associated with COD, and a desire for more control over this payment method. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is designed for merchants looking to boost sales through suggestive selling and promotional strategies. The significant disparity in the number of reviews (14 vs. 1004) suggests Essential Upsell & Cross Sell has a much wider user base and is a more established app in the upsell/cross-sell space.
