Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily concerned with mitigating risks associated with COD and personalizing the customer experience, COD Toolkit by Breeze is the better choice. Its rules-based blocking system based on order value or location offers a straightforward solution for reducing problematic COD orders, coupled with branding features. However, for merchants facing significant financial losses due to COD and needing extremely granular control over when COD is offered (e.g., specific products, collections, or pin codes), PayCOD | COD Upfront Payment is the stronger option. The ability to collect upfront fees and add surcharges directly addresses the cost issue, and it also provides more options on how to hide/show COD.
