CodeUp ‑ Add Custom Code vs Poloriz ‑ Shoppable Storiesfor Shopify (2026)
CodeUp - Add Custom Code and Poloriz - Shoppable Stories are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Storefronts - Other', but they address drastically different needs. CodeUp focuses on providing merchants with a simple way to inject custom code (CSS, JavaScript, and verification codes) into their Shopify store, emphasizing ease of use and code customization. In contrast, Poloriz automates the creation of shoppable stories from product images, aiming to increase engagement, page views, and ultimately, conversions, by replicating an Instagram-like experience within the Shopify storefront. CodeUp's strength lies in its simplicity and direct control over storefront customization, appealing to merchants who require precise code injections for analytics, verification, or design tweaks. Poloriz, on the other hand, targets merchants looking for a more engaging and visually appealing storefront experience, automating content creation and offering personalized product recommendations. While both aim to improve the storefront, their approaches and target users are distinct, with CodeUp catering to those needing technical control and Poloriz focusing on visual engagement and automated content creation.

Our Verdict
The choice between CodeUp and Poloriz depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant requires precise control over the store's code for verification, analytics, or specific design tweaks, CodeUp is the clear choice. Its simplicity and focus on code customization make it a valuable tool for technical users.
However, if a merchant is looking to enhance the visual appeal of their storefront and increase engagement through an Instagram-like stories feature, Poloriz is the better option. Its automated story creation and product recommendations offer a hands-off approach to creating a more dynamic and engaging shopping experience. While Poloriz has significantly more reviews and a slightly higher rating, the limited review count for CodeUp makes it difficult to definitively recommend one over the other without considering the merchant's core requirements.
