Codify COD vs RI Cash On Deliveryfor Shopify (2026)
Codify COD and RI Cash On Delivery both aim to help Shopify merchants manage Cash on Delivery (COD) payments effectively, focusing on reducing losses from fraudulent orders and optimizing COD availability. Codify COD emphasizes OTP verification for confirming COD orders, offering features like reminder notifications and automatic cancellation of unverified orders. Its controls are detailed, allowing limitations by product, collection, zip code, and order value. RI Cash On Delivery, on the other hand, focuses on adding fees, restricting COD based on broader rules (location, cart value, product), and actively blocking fraudulent customers using a blacklist. It also has a feature syncing COD with specific shipping options. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with reducing return-to-origin (RTO) losses through direct customer verification, Codify COD appears to be the stronger option. Its established track record with a 5/5 rating and detailed control over COD availability gives it a clear advantage. The OTP verification feature provides a proactive layer of defense against fake orders. RI Cash On Delivery, while offering potentially valuable features like customer blacklisting and shipping option sync, lacks any user reviews to validate its effectiveness. Merchants more focused on blocking repeat offenders and integrating COD with specific shipping options, and willing to take a risk on a new app, might consider RI Cash On Delivery, but should proceed with caution and thorough testing. If reducing RTO is the primary goal, Codify COD is the safer bet.
