Coin Currency Converter vs Geolocation & Markets—Selectyfor Shopify (2026)
Coin Currency Converter focuses primarily on providing a simple currency conversion solution, as inferred by its name and general category placement. Its strength lies in its apparent ease of use, potentially suitable for smaller merchants or those new to international sales who only need basic currency conversion functionality. However, with only 98 reviews and a rating of 4.8, it has less social proof compared to Geolocation & Markets—Selecty. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty, on the other hand, presents itself as a comprehensive solution for merchants aggressively expanding into international markets via Shopify Markets and Global-e Managed Markets. Its headline and description emphasize geolocation-based personalization, market recommendations, and multiple selector options (currency, language, country). With a perfect 5/5 rating from 262 reviews, it has demonstrably strong user satisfaction and is likely more robust for larger businesses managing complex international operations with Shopify Markets. The app's core value proposition revolves around optimizing the customer experience based on location, language, and currency to boost global sales.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with basic currency conversion and ease of use, Coin Currency Converter may be sufficient, particularly if they are new to international sales. However, for businesses actively leveraging Shopify Markets and Global-e Managed Markets, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the superior choice. Its comprehensive feature set for geolocation, market recommendations, and language/currency customization offers a more robust and targeted solution for maximizing international sales and providing a localized customer experience. Selecty is likely more complex to configure, but the higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest a greater return on investment for merchants serious about global expansion.
