Collection Sort & Category |KX vs Hide Out Of Stock & Push Downfor Shopify (2026)
Collection Sort & Category |KX (Kimonix) and Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down are both Shopify apps that enhance product display and collection management, but they target distinct merchant needs and offer different functionalities. Kimonix focuses on AI-powered merchandising, including smart collection sorting, product recommendations, and A/B testing. It's designed for larger fashion brands aiming to automate and personalize their product presentation to optimize conversion rates and inventory management. Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down, conversely, addresses the logistical challenges of inventory management, enabling merchants to automatically hide, push down, or redirect out-of-stock or low-stock products, and republish them when restocked. The fundamental difference lies in their core objectives. Kimonix aims to boost sales through optimized product placement and personalization, while Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down focuses on providing a smooth and efficient shopping experience by managing product visibility based on inventory levels. Kimonix requires minimal to no code, emphasizing ease of use for complex merchandising strategies. Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down also claims simple setup, but centers around automation rules that manage inventory-related changes. Thus, the choice between the two hinges on whether a merchant prioritizes AI-driven merchandising or automated inventory visibility management.

Our Verdict
For merchants with large and diverse product catalogs, especially in the fashion industry, and a strong focus on personalized shopping experiences, Collection Sort & Category |KX (Kimonix) is the more suitable option. Its AI-powered features offer significant advantages in optimizing product presentation and driving conversions. However, the relatively high review count (178) compared to Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down (5) suggests it has been on the market for longer, but does not necessarily mean the latter is inferior, just newer to the market.
Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down is ideal for businesses primarily concerned with efficiently managing out-of-stock products and maintaining a clean and user-friendly storefront. If inventory visibility and automated stock management are paramount, this app provides a practical and effective solution, potentially preventing frustrated customers and lost sales due to unavailable items. The focus of this app is far more technical and less marketing-focused than Collection Sort & Category |KX.
