Collection Sort & Category |KX vs Sink | Push Down Out of Stockfor Shopify (2026)
Collection Sort & Category |KX, also known as Kimonix, and Sink | Push Down Out of Stock are both Shopify apps designed to enhance product display and collection management. However, they cater to distinct segments of the Shopify merchant population with vastly different feature sets and levels of sophistication. Kimonix positions itself as an AI-powered merchandising platform, targeting larger fashion brands seeking to automate and optimize collection sorting and product recommendations at scale. Sink, on the other hand, provides a simpler, more focused solution, primarily addressing the problem of out-of-stock products cluttering collections and hindering the customer experience. Kimonix boasts advanced features like automated collection management, AI-driven product recommendations (including 1:1 personalization and email campaign integration), and A/B testing capabilities. Its strength lies in its ability to adapt to regional performance, inventory levels, and shopper behavior without manual intervention. Sink's core functionality revolves around automatically pushing sold-out products to the bottom of collections and offering basic sorting options like Best Selling, Product Title, and Price. Its strength is its simplicity and immediate impact on storefront organization and customer experience, particularly for merchants wanting to prioritize in-stock items.

Our Verdict
For larger Shopify stores, particularly those in the fashion industry with extensive product catalogs and a focus on personalization, Collection Sort & Category |KX (Kimonix) is the clear choice. Its AI-driven capabilities offer a level of automation and optimization that Sink cannot match. However, for smaller businesses seeking a simple and effective solution to declutter their collections and prioritize in-stock items, Sink | Push Down Out of Stock provides an excellent value proposition. It addresses a common pain point with minimal setup and ongoing maintenance. If your primary concern is managing out-of-stock visibility, Sink is the more practical and cost-effective option; if you're seeking a full-fledged AI merchandising platform, Kimonix is the better investment.
