Color Swatch King: Variants vs Extendons Quantity Selectorfor Shopify (2026)
Color Swatch King: Variants focuses on improving the visual display and selection process of product variants. It aims to boost conversion by allowing customers to quickly compare options using color swatches, image swatches, and variant information on collection pages. The app targets merchants with products that have diverse variants (e.g., colors, sizes) and are looking to streamline the customer's product browsing and selection experience, thereby reducing selection time and increasing sales. On the other hand, Extendons Quantity Selector concentrates on optimizing the quantity selection process, primarily for merchants selling products in bulk, packs, or with limited inventory. It enhances the user interface with customizable +/- buttons, enforces order limits (minimum/maximum quantities, step quantities), and provides real-time validation to prevent errors. The primary difference lies in their functionality: Color Swatch King: Variants enhances visual product representation and selection, catering to businesses with varied product options. Extendons Quantity Selector modifies the quantity input and imposes order limits, addressing the needs of businesses focused on bulk sales or inventory control. Color Swatch King offers features such as split product variants, compatibility with Shopify Markets, B2B, size charts, Filter & Search, and recommendations which go beyond product selection and extend to advanced storefront functionality. Both apps claim seamless theme integration, but given the substantial review disparity, it is difficult to accurately judge the relative stability and user experience.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling products with numerous variants (color, size, material), Color Swatch King: Variants is the clear choice. Its rich feature set and overwhelming positive reviews indicate a well-established and effective solution for enhancing the product browsing and selection experience. The free setup by experts also suggests a smoother onboarding process. Extendons Quantity Selector is more niche, suitable for stores that need precise control over order quantities, particularly those selling bulk items or needing to manage limited inventory efficiently. While Extendons Quantity Selector boasts excellent features, the extremely low number of reviews compared to Color Swatch King: Variants makes it hard to recommend in most cases. Color Swatch King is more generally applicable and therefore generally preferable, barring the specific need for detailed quantity controls that Extendons excels at.
