Color Swatch King: Variants vs NML Product Comparefor Shopify (2026)
Color Swatch King: Variants and NML Product Compare cater to distinct needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Color Swatch King is clearly positioned as a conversion optimization tool focused on improving the product selection experience through visually appealing and informative variant options. Its strengths lie in comprehensive variant display customization, bulk uploading of swatches, and features designed to streamline the customer journey, such as hiding out-of-stock variants. It targets merchants aiming to enhance product presentation and reduce selection friction, potentially leading to increased sales. NML Product Compare, judging by its name and limited data, likely focuses on enabling customers to compare different products within the store. The most striking difference is the drastic contrast in user reviews and ratings. Color Swatch King boasts a near-perfect 5/5 rating with a substantial 1959 reviews, signifying a strong track record and user satisfaction. NML Product Compare, on the other hand, has a 0/5 rating with only 2 reviews, raising concerns about its functionality, reliability, or customer support. This disparity makes a direct comparison challenging, as the evidence strongly favors Color Swatch King regarding established performance and reliability. Based solely on the available data, NML Product Compare appears to be much less mature and does not have nearly the user validation compared to Color Swatch King. Color Swatch King has integrations and appears to be built for a business using Shopify markets, B2B, or that needs to show size charts or recommendations.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, based on this data, Color Swatch King: Variants is the strongly recommended choice. Its proven track record, high rating, and comprehensive feature set focused on variant display and conversion optimization make it a compelling option for businesses selling products with multiple variants. The availability of features such as color swatches on the collection page and bulk swatch uploading suggests a well-developed and user-friendly application.
NML Product Compare, given its lack of reviews and potentially untested rating, presents a significant risk. It's possible that the low review count is due to it being a very niche product compare tool or due to it just being new. However, the lack of positive feedback and absence of detailed feature information makes it difficult to recommend over the established and highly-rated Color Swatch King. Merchants might consider NML Product Compare only if they have a very specific product comparison need not addressed by Color Swatch King and are willing to take on the risk associated with an unproven application, or want to try it knowing they are dealing with a very new product.
