Our Verdict
Contribe is suitable for merchants who prioritize building a brand around social responsibility and appealing to ethically-minded customers. It's ideal for businesses where demonstrating a commitment to social impact is central to their brand identity. However, the very low number of reviews may raise concerns about its maturity and reliability. Loox, on the other hand, is the superior choice for businesses focused on directly boosting sales through social proof. Its high rating and massive number of reviews suggests a reliable and well-established app, making it a safer bet for merchants prioritizing conversion rate optimization and customer trust-building through visual product reviews.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Without user experience data, it's difficult to definitively say. However, Loox, with its established reputation and large user base, likely has more readily available documentation and support resources, making setup potentially smoother.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
Loox is generally a better choice for a new store. Social proof is critical for establishing credibility when you don't have a pre-existing reputation. Contribe's benefits are more subtle and may be better suited for stores that already have a customer base.
Can I use both Contribe and Loox?
Yes, the apps address different aspects of customer loyalty. A store *could* use both: Loox to showcase product quality through reviews and Contribe to reinforce the brand's values through charitable giving. However, consider the cost and potential overlap in messaging.
Which app has better customer support?
Both apps claim to offer high-quality customer support. Contribe highlights a "high-touch" team, while Loox emphasizes 24/7 availability. Loox's larger user base likely translates into more readily available community support and documentation.
Which app is more likely to increase repeat purchases?
Both apps *aim* to increase repeat purchases, but through different mechanisms. Contribe seeks to foster loyalty through shared values, while Loox incentivizes further purchases with discounts for photo/video reviews and referrals. The better choice depends on the store's target audience and brand identity.
