Conversion Bear Trust Badges vs Google Customer Reviews Appiofor Shopify (2026)
Conversion Bear Trust Badges and Google Customer Reviews Appio both aim to boost customer trust using badges and icons on a Shopify store. However, they approach this goal from different angles. Conversion Bear focuses on providing a wide array of customizable static trust badges and payment icons that merchants can strategically place throughout their site to visually convey security and reliability. It emphasizes design flexibility and quick implementation. In contrast, Google Customer Reviews Appio centers on integrating the official Google Seller Ratings badge and leverages Google's review system to build trust through validated customer feedback. The key difference lies in the type of trust signal they provide. Conversion Bear offers generic trust seals, while Google Customer Reviews Appio showcases actual customer ratings and reviews collected through Google. Conversion Bear appears to be geared toward stores lacking established reviews or those needing extensive control over badge aesthetics and placement. Google Customer Reviews Appio, on the other hand, targets merchants who have already established a presence on Google and want to leverage their existing Google reviews for increased conversion rates. The number of reviews (374 vs. 1) suggests Conversion Bear has been around longer and has a larger user base, although both apps boast a perfect 5/5 rating.

Our Verdict
If a merchant is just starting out or wants to have full control over the appearance and placement of trust badges, Conversion Bear Trust Badges is the better option. Its extensive library of badges and easy implementation make it a quick win for establishing basic trust signals. However, for merchants who have already actively collected reviews through Google and have a solid Google Seller Rating, Google Customer Reviews Appio is the clear choice. Displaying genuine Google reviews carries more weight than generic trust badges and can significantly boost conversion rates by leveraging Google's existing credibility. While both are rated highly, Google Customer Reviews Appio requires setup in Google Merchant Center, so it's best suited for merchants already using Google's services.
