Conversion Companion vs OnlyWeb Payment Method Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Conversion Companion and OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules are both Shopify apps focused on the checkout experience, but they address drastically different needs. Conversion Companion aims to boost conversion rates by analyzing shopper behavior and personalizing the checkout with upsells, trust badges, and urgency messages. It leverages extensive data insights and A/B testing to optimize the checkout flow. In contrast, OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules focuses solely on controlling which payment methods are displayed to customers based on their cart total, helping merchants reduce fraud or encourage specific payment types. Conversion Companion is targeted toward merchants seeking to improve their overall conversion funnel by leveraging behavioral insights and personalization. Its strength lies in its comprehensive data analysis, customization options, and A/B testing capabilities. OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules, on the other hand, is much more niche, catering to merchants who need precise control over payment method visibility based on cart value, specifically for managing COD or encouraging prepaid orders. The app's strength is in its simplicity and focus on a single, but important, issue: payment method selection.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with optimizing their overall checkout experience and leveraging data-driven insights to boost conversion rates, Conversion Companion is the superior choice. Its robust features for personalization, A/B testing, and reporting offer a comprehensive solution for improving the checkout funnel.
However, if the main priority is to control payment method visibility based on cart value to prevent COD fraud or encourage prepaid orders, OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules provides a simpler, more focused solution. It sacrifices the broader conversion optimization capabilities of Conversion Companion but excels at its specific task.
