Cookiefy ‑ Privacy Policy vs Scala GDPR EU Cookie Bannerfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, merchants needing a cookie consent solution have two options: Cookiefy ‑ Privacy Policy and Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner. Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner positions itself as an easily configurable solution for displaying a GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD compliant cookie banner that can be edited directly inside the theme editor. A key difference is that Scala only provides the banner; merchants are responsible for the actual cookie blocking. Cookiefy's positioning isn't explicit from the data given, but its lower rating and review count suggest it might be less popular or have some usability challenges compared to Scala. Scala boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 6 reviews, suggesting positive initial user experiences regarding its ease of use and functionality, as highlighted in its headline and description. Its key features include customizable banner appearance and non-intrusive theme integration, as it only reads theme files and doesn't modify them, and importantly it does not store preferences using cookies. Cookiefy, with a lower 3/5 rating and fewer reviews, offers an unknown feature set beyond cookie consent, based on the data available.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing ease of use and a quick GDPR/CCPA/LGPD compliant banner setup with theme editor integration, Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner is the stronger choice. However, merchants must be comfortable handling the actual blocking of cookies based on user consent. Cookiefy ‑ Privacy Policy, with its limited information, is harder to recommend without further details. It *might* be suitable for merchants who require additional privacy features beyond just a cookie banner, but more research is needed.
Ultimately, Scala is the preferred option for most merchants based on the available data, assuming they can handle the technical aspect of blocking cookies if consent is not given. Cookiefy lacks clear advantages without more information. If Cookiefy offers comprehensive privacy policy generation or automatic cookie blocking, it could compete more effectively.
