Our Verdict
Based on available data, Hulk GDPR Cookie Consent Bar is the clearly superior choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its overwhelmingly positive reviews and explicit focus on GDPR, CCPA, and VCPA compliance offer greater peace of mind, especially for businesses targeting customers in the EU/EEA, California, or Virginia. The app's emphasis on ease of use and customization further strengthens its appeal. CookieScript's low rating and minimal reviews raise significant concerns about its reliability and effectiveness; unless significantly updated, merchants should approach it with extreme caution. A merchant should only consider CookieScript if a drastic turn around happens and there are many positive reviews to validate the app, or there is a unique integration they need that Hulk does not provide.
