Correios ‑ SEDEX ‑ PAC vs ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Correios ‑ SEDEX ‑ PAC and ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules are both Shopify apps designed to automate and customize shipping rate calculations, but they cater to significantly different audiences. Correios ‑ SEDEX ‑ PAC focuses on Brazilian merchants who need integration with local carriers like Correios, Jadlog, Loggi, and Total Express. It aims to provide plug-and-play freight calculation, especially for merchants who may or may not have contracts with Correios, and those involved in dropshipping, marketplaces, or multi-origin setups. Its value proposition lies in simplifying shipping logistics for the Brazilian market. ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules, on the other hand, takes a broader, more globally applicable approach, offering advanced shipping rules and customization options, including rate blending, AI-based packaging, and distance-based calculations. ShipX is targeted towards merchants with complex shipping needs, like those using dropshipping with origin-based rates, those wanting to prevent losses by precise control on shipping rates based on city, zip code, and distance, and merchants requiring sophisticated rate blending and packaging calculations. ShipX's key differentiators include its AI-based packaging algorithm, its ability to manage rates based on product dimensions, and its integration with a broader range of carriers such as USPS, Sendle, and Starshipit. The critical difference is that ShipX requires Shopify's Carrier Calculated Shipping API while Correios-SEDEX-PAC doesn't explicitly mention this requirement, hinting at a potentially simpler initial setup for Brazilian-focused businesses.

Our Verdict
For Brazilian merchants primarily shipping within Brazil and needing easy integration with local carriers, Correios ‑ SEDEX ‑ PAC might be the better choice. Its focus on Correios and other Brazilian carriers simplifies setup and automates calculations specifically tailored to that market. The lower rating and fewer reviews should be a point of concern, prompting closer scrutiny of recent user feedback to understand specific pain points.
For merchants outside of Brazil, those with more complex shipping needs (dropshipping with multiple origins, needing granular control over rates based on dimensions or postal codes, wanting to blend rates, etc.), and those using diverse carriers like USPS, Sendle, and Starshipit, ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules is the clear winner. The significantly higher rating and large number of reviews indicate greater user satisfaction and a more robust and reliable solution. However, its requirement for Shopify's Carrier Calculated Shipping API adds complexity to the setup process.
