CostumePlay AI Videos & Try‑On vs Elfsight Portfolio Galleryfor Shopify (2026)
CostumePlay AI Videos & Try‑On and Elfsight Portfolio Gallery are both apps in the 'Images and media - Other' category on the Shopify App Store, but cater to very different needs. CostumePlay AI Videos & Try‑On focuses on automating content creation, specifically generating on-model images and short-form videos for advertising and social media marketing. Its strength lies in its AI-powered content generation and editing features, targeting merchants who want to streamline their visual marketing efforts. In contrast, Elfsight Portfolio Gallery provides a tool for showcasing a merchant's past work and projects in a visually appealing manner. It is a portfolio display widget, emphasizing customization and visual presentation of existing work. Therefore, their target audiences also differ significantly. CostumePlay AI Videos & Try‑On is tailored for merchants selling products, especially those that benefit from visual demonstrations (e.g., apparel, accessories), and who need to quickly generate marketing assets. Our Verdict
For merchants needing to quickly generate marketing videos and on-model images, especially for product-based businesses, CostumePlay AI Videos & Try‑On is the clear choice, despite having fewer reviews. Its features are directly relevant to creating engaging content for social media and product pages. However, merchants seeking to showcase past projects or build a visually appealing portfolio of their services should opt for Elfsight Portfolio Gallery. Its focus on customization and presentation of existing work makes it ideal for service providers looking to build credibility.
While both apps have 5-star ratings, the limited number of reviews for both warrants caution. Further investigation (searching for external reviews, testing the free trial if available) is advised before committing to a paid plan. If a merchant's primary goal is content creation for marketing purposes, CostumePlay is the better option, while Elfsight wins if the goal is showcasing existing work and building a professional online presence.
