Country Geo Redirects Lite vs Geolocation & Markets—Selectyfor Shopify (2026)
Country Geo Redirects Lite and Geolocation & Markets—Selecty both address geolocation on Shopify, but they cater to vastly different merchant needs and exhibit substantial performance differences. Country Geo Redirects Lite is positioned as a very basic solution for merchants with a small number of regional stores (up to three countries) who simply need a popup to redirect users. Its strength lies in its simplicity, offering minimal customization options. This makes it ideal for merchants who are technologically unsophisticated and need a barebones solution to guide customers to the correct localized store. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty, on the other hand, is a comprehensive solution geared towards merchants actively expanding into multiple markets and utilizing Shopify Markets or Global-e Managed Markets. It provides a range of features to automatically adapt the store experience based on the visitor's location, including currency and language selectors, automatic redirects, and market recommendations. Selecty aims to optimize the shopping experience for international customers, increasing global sales and offering greater control over market customization. The significant difference in user reviews (3 vs. 262) and ratings (2/5 vs. 5/5) strongly suggest a superior user experience and product effectiveness for Selecty.

Our Verdict
For a very small business with only a couple of regional stores and a limited budget, Country Geo Redirects Lite might suffice as a temporary, basic solution. However, the low rating and minimal features indicate that it is likely not a long-term or robust option. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is clearly the superior choice for any merchant serious about international expansion and optimizing their Shopify Markets or Global-e Managed Markets presence. The robust feature set, high rating, and numerous positive reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution that will drive sales and provide a better customer experience. The advanced features justify any potential increase in complexity.
