Covet Instagram Feed & Reviews vs SEO Speed Image Optimizerfor Shopify (2026)
Covet Instagram Feed & Reviews and SEO Speed Image Optimizer address fundamentally different needs for Shopify merchants. Covet focuses on leveraging user-generated content and social media integration to enhance brand community and product discoverability. It allows merchants to curate Instagram feeds, collect and display photo/video reviews, and create shoppable galleries, targeting businesses seeking to boost social proof and engagement. In contrast, SEO Speed Image Optimizer centers on improving website performance and SEO through image optimization. It automatically resizes and compresses images, optimizes alt text, and provides bulk editing tools to enhance site speed and search engine visibility, catering to merchants prioritizing SEO and user experience. While both apps handle images, their objectives and functionalities diverge significantly. Covet aims to use images to build social connections and drive sales through visual marketing. SEO Speed Image Optimizer focuses on the technical aspects of image management to improve site performance and search rankings. Choosing between them hinges on a merchant's priorities: building social proof and community versus optimizing website speed and SEO. Both apps, however, are relatively new with approximately the same number of reviews, with SEO Speed Image Optimizer slightly edging out Covet in average ratings, though the difference may not be significant without analyzing the distribution of ratings in each app.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on leveraging social media, user-generated content, and visual marketing to drive sales, Covet Instagram Feed & Reviews is the better choice. It provides tools for curating Instagram feeds, collecting customer photo reviews, and creating engaging shoppable galleries. However, if the primary goal is to improve website speed, SEO, and overall site performance, then SEO Speed Image Optimizer is the superior option. Its automated image resizing, alt text optimization, and bulk editing capabilities directly address these concerns. If a merchant has both needs, they might consider using both apps, allocating budget for one based on which need is more acute.
Common Questions
Does Covet help with SEO?
While Covet focuses primarily on social proof and user-generated content, it can indirectly contribute to SEO by increasing user engagement and time spent on site, which are positive ranking signals. However, it does not directly optimize images for SEO.
Can SEO Speed Image Optimizer improve my Instagram engagement?
No, SEO Speed Image Optimizer focuses solely on optimizing images for website performance and SEO and does not impact Instagram engagement.
Which app is easier to use?
Both apps appear straightforward. SEO Speed Image Optimizer, with its focus on automated processes and bulk editing, might have a slight edge in terms of ease of use for merchants managing large image libraries. However, Covet's user interface for content curation is also likely user-friendly.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
Yes, as they address different needs. You can use SEO Speed Image Optimizer to ensure your images are optimized for website performance, and Covet Instagram Feed & Reviews to leverage user-generated content for social proof and marketing.
Which app offers better long-term value?
It depends on the merchant's long-term strategy. If building a strong brand community and leveraging user-generated content is crucial, Covet offers long-term value. If improving website performance and SEO is a persistent need, SEO Speed Image Optimizer provides continuous value.
