CPS Extended Warranty Upsell vs DRIP: Returns For Sale Widgetfor Shopify (2026)
CPS Extended Warranty Upsell and DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget both address aspects of returns and warranty management for Shopify merchants, but cater to entirely different needs. CPS focuses on increasing revenue by offering extended warranties at the point of sale, implying it's designed for merchants selling new products who want to offer customers additional protection and peace of mind. DRIP, conversely, is a tool specifically designed for selling open-box, returned, or otherwise non-new items directly on a merchant's storefront. It highlights these items and their condition, allowing merchants to recoup value from otherwise unsellable inventory. The crucial distinction lies in their target product type. CPS is about maximizing revenue on *new* sales by extending warranty options. DRIP is about minimizing losses on *returned* or imperfect inventory by enabling direct sales of those items. The feature set of DRIP is built around customizable widgets, automated pricing, and product catalog integration, optimized for selling items 'in any condition.' These features suggest that DRIP users will need the tools to accurately translate the condition of items, manage pricing on a fluid basis, and clear inventory fast. CPS Extended Warranty Upsell is likely to be more about easy configuration and warranty plan integration.

Our Verdict
The choice between CPS Extended Warranty Upsell and DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget depends entirely on the type of inventory you're managing. If you primarily sell new products and want to increase revenue by offering extended warranties, CPS is the more suitable option, assuming it offers easy integration with warranty providers. However, if you're struggling with a high volume of returned or open-box items and want a dedicated solution for selling them directly to customers, DRIP is the clear winner.
DRIP's feature set - customizable widgets, automated pricing, and direct-to-customer sales - is specifically tailored for this purpose. While CPS may be simpler in scope, DRIP addresses a more complex problem with a robust and focused solution. The higher number of reviews for DRIP also suggests broader adoption and potentially a more mature product, offering more insight into real-world performance, despite the shared 5/5 rating.
