CRM PLUS on LINE vs Drop: Instagram DM Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants seeking marketing solutions face a choice between CRM PLUS on LINE and Drop: Instagram DM Marketing. CRM PLUS on LINE focuses on leveraging the popular LINE messaging app for customer communication, primarily targeting Japanese or Asian markets where LINE adoption is high. Its strength lies in automating personalized messages through LINE based on Shopify customer data, including abandoned checkout reminders and restock notifications, along with features like rich menus and integration with Shopify Flow. Drop: Instagram DM Marketing, on the other hand, centers on using Instagram DMs for customer engagement, potentially appealing to a broader, younger demographic accustomed to Instagram as a primary communication channel. The key difference lies in the platform: LINE vs. Instagram DM. CRM PLUS on LINE excels at automated messaging based on customer tags and actions, offering a direct communication channel within LINE, whereas Drop focuses on building subscriber lists and utilizing AI-powered campaigns within Instagram DMs. The absence of reviews for Drop raises concerns about its proven effectiveness and reliability, whereas CRM PLUS on LINE enjoys a perfect rating based on a moderate number of reviews.

Our Verdict
For merchants heavily invested in the LINE ecosystem, particularly those targeting customers in regions where LINE is prevalent, CRM PLUS on LINE is the clear choice. Its proven track record (5-star rating with 38 reviews) and established features for automating personalized messages offer a valuable tool for customer engagement and recovery. The Shopify Flow integration adds further flexibility.
Drop: Instagram DM Marketing, while promising, lacks the validation of user reviews and a proven track record. It might appeal to merchants heavily focused on Instagram marketing and looking for innovative ways to engage with their audience directly through DMs. However, given the absence of social proof, merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly evaluate the app's functionality and support before committing. The Meta partnership, while potentially beneficial, needs to translate into tangible results.
