CS ‑ Business Email vs GD: Login as Customerfor Shopify (2026)
CS ‑ Business Email and GD: Login as Customer, while both categorized under Shopify's Support - Other category, address entirely different needs. CS ‑ Business Email focuses on enhancing a merchant's professional image and email management capabilities. It offers unlimited custom email addresses under the merchant's domain, integrated within the Shopify admin, targeting merchants seeking improved communication and branding. GD: Login as Customer, conversely, caters to merchants needing to directly access customer accounts for troubleshooting and support purposes. It emphasizes secure customer login using Shopify Multipass, catering specifically to Shopify Plus merchants who require advanced support features. The primary divergence lies in their core functionalities: one manages business email, while the other facilitates customer account access. CS ‑ Business Email aims to improve customer communication and brand perception by providing professional email addresses and streamlined management. GD: Login as Customer directly improves customer support effectiveness by allowing merchants to experience the store from the customer's perspective, essential for complex troubleshooting and replicating issues. The latter's reliance on Shopify Multipass drastically limits its applicability compared to the former.

Our Verdict
The choice between these apps is straightforward based on the merchant's needs and Shopify plan. GD: Login as Customer is ONLY viable for Shopify Plus merchants seeking to enhance customer support through direct account access for troubleshooting. Its reliance on Multipass immediately disqualifies it for standard Shopify plans. CS ‑ Business Email offers broader appeal. Any merchant, regardless of their Shopify plan, can benefit from creating professional-looking email addresses and streamlining email management directly from their Shopify admin.
Therefore, if you're on Shopify Plus and need to improve customer support, GD: Login as Customer is valuable. For all other merchants seeking to improve their brand image and communication, CS - Business Email is the more suitable choice. The lack of reviews for GD: Login as Customer, combined with its Shopify Plus requirement, suggests a very niche appeal compared to the potentially broader utility of CS ‑ Business Email.
