CSS: Cart Save and Share vs EG Auto Add to Cart Free Giftfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, both CSS: Cart Save and Share and EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift aim to enhance the cart experience on Shopify, but they cater to distinctly different merchant needs. CSS focuses on improving customer convenience and social sharing by allowing shoppers to save their carts for later and share them with friends or family. This promotes potential social commerce and reduces cart abandonment by providing a simple save-and-resume option. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift, in contrast, is geared towards boosting sales and average order value through automated upsells, BOGO offers, and strategically placed free gifts. While both fall under the "cart customization" category, their approaches are fundamentally different. CSS is about facilitating customer convenience and enabling organic sharing, while EG focuses on direct sales tactics and incentivized purchases. The vast difference in the number of reviews, despite both having a 5-star rating, suggests that EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift has a far wider user base and likely a more established track record.

Our Verdict
The choice between CSS: Cart Save and Share and EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift hinges on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. If the primary goal is to enhance customer experience, reduce cart abandonment by allowing customers to save the cart, and encourage social sharing of desired items, CSS: Cart Save and Share would be a good choice.
However, for merchants primarily focused on boosting sales metrics like average order value and conversion rates, and are comfortable with automation and promotional strategies, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is the clearly superior option, especially given its significantly higher number of positive reviews, suggesting a well-established and successful app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift claims a 'super simple UI,' suggesting potentially easier setup for its specific promotional features. However, CSS: Cart Save and Share likely also has a simple set up due to its limited features.
Which app is better for a small business?
Both could be suitable for a small business, but the choice depends on the priorities. If attracting new customers through social sharing and improving customer experience are key, CSS might be preferred. If immediate sales growth is more important, EG is a better choice.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
While theoretically possible, it depends on how well they integrate and whether they conflict with each other. Combining the two *could* cause cart confusion, and merchants should test thoroughly before deploying both simultaneously.
Which app has better support?
With only 2 reviews, it's difficult to gauge the support quality for CSS. EG, with 762 reviews, likely has a more robust support system in place to handle a larger user base, though support quality should be verified directly if possible.
Does either app offer analytics?
CSS specifically mentions an 'intuitive cart log' for tracking saved and shared carts. EG does not explicitly mention analytics beyond setting up sales rules, but likely tracks offer performance within its system.
